{"id":2762,"date":"2012-12-11T11:26:20","date_gmt":"2012-12-11T11:26:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dalyellupcollege.wa.edu.au\/?page_id=2762"},"modified":"2023-08-31T01:42:13","modified_gmt":"2023-08-31T01:42:13","slug":"chaplaincy-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.dalyellupcollege.wa.edu.au\/?page_id=2762","title":{"rendered":"Chaplaincy Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-color has-medium-font-size\" style=\"color:#008c99;font-style:italic;font-weight:100;letter-spacing:3px\">The chaplain\u2019s primary role is to cultivate the<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-medium-font-size\" style=\"color:#008c99;font-style:italic;font-weight:100;letter-spacing:3px\"> personal and social well being of the students,<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-medium-font-size\" style=\"color:#008c99;font-style:italic;font-weight:100;letter-spacing:3px\"> their families and staff in need of social,<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-medium-font-size\" style=\"color:#008c99;font-style:italic;font-weight:100;letter-spacing:3px\"> emotional, mental, physical and spiritual<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-medium-font-size\" style=\"color:#008c99;font-style:italic;font-weight:100;letter-spacing:3px\"> support<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\n<h3>The chaplain works as part of the Student Services Team providing pastoral care and support for students helping to deal with issues including health, social and values education, behaviour management and emotional support <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">They work with the Student Services Team by:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Building relationships with students, families and staff<\/li>\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Being a mentor and positive role model<\/li>\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Offering pastoral care support<\/li>\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Providing a link between schools and local communities<\/li>\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Running the Breakfast Club<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Accessing the chaplain is completely voluntary and students do not have to use or access this service. If a student does want to meet with the chaplain they need to fill in a consent form which must be signed by their classroom teacher giving permission to leave class. <\/p>\n<p>The Chaplin program is funded through a combination of sources and is managed overall by Youth Care.
